New Ross Piano Festival


An international piano festival based in the beautiful setting of New Ross, Ireland, takes place every year and features a world-class lineup of exceptional pianists. They approached us looking for a classical music festival design and brand that would engage new audiences and achieve consistency across all materials.

From research and planning, we suggested a brand strategy to focus on the town of New Ross and it’s piano excellence. The new brand needed to be friendly and welcoming, to engage not only the piano fans, but accessible to locals too.

Focusing on the town of New Ross, we were inspired by the vibrancy of the buildings and distinct town features to create the festival logo and brand assets, mixing in piano elements in an abstract way. We experimented with a hand crafted paper cut technique to ensure that the new brand had a welcoming and friendly feel, with longevity for the future and an easily identifiable style. 

The new website design required well-defined user journeys and signposting throughout the site in order to guide audiences to the event programmes, featured artists and ticket sales. We balanced the content with our new brand illustrations to create synergy across online and printed platforms.

The new brand was successfully received by all audiences, and is continuing to gain recognition. The website received great user statistics, with an excellent bounce rate average of 35%. In addition, an average session duration of over 3 minutes in the lead up to the festival. Ticket sales were also high and social media followers increased by over 20%.

The brand identity is appealing and vibrant, with the flexibility to create new illustrations year-on-year. The launch of the new design has helped the festival to reach new audiences and will continue to build relationships with existing ones.
